Name: Darius Grey
Age: 24
Affiliation [Which gang or neutral]: The Black Hearts // Leader
Physical Appearance:
Darius never looked like the most intimidating guy around and his looks often gave off the impression of him being weak. Even now on the odd occassion there are still those that completely underestimate him.
He doesn't stand that tall at only 5'11" and his hair is cut short enough that it only requires attention when he really feels the need to do such. He has a scar running from his left ear down his jaw, inflicted by his father when he was seven and has many more from various situations. Alongside this he has piercing blue eyes from his mothers side of the family.
Personality:
Darius always hated to be underestimated and taken for the wimpy kid and knows even now that this was a turning point in his life and one of the lesser reasons that he became the leader of one of the most ruthless gangs against the King and his men. He's also fairly certian that this is what fueled on his short temper, the thing that most people look out for when they're talking to him. Bad news or just things that he doesn't want to hear are the exploding points and it's time like this that he doesn't give a damn who he ends up hurting.
Darius has a tendency to judge people on a first impression and once you've met him and screwed up for the first time it will take a lot to get him to change his mind about you. He is very judgemental and his trust isn't gained easily. You've got to work hard to be able to get anywhere near the guy.
One of his most obvious personality traits is that as the leader of the Black Hearts he expects anyone in the gang to do as he tells them. He grew up not expecting much from life, but now that he's in a position of authority he wants people to respect him - or at least do as he says - like he was expected to do as a child. He doesn't take well to being disobeyed and even a fair few Black Hearts have been killed for this. The thing he hates above all else is disloyalty. And love.
Another thing you should learn about Darius is that he holds little to no sympathy for anyone or anything. If he wants to kill someone then he'll do it without remorse. In short he's a completely sadistic bastard who enjoys torturing people.
The only thing he cares about is his sister. His only living relative. Even if people would say he's not exactly nice to her, it's a darn sight better than what he is to everyone else. He may loose his temper a lot of the time and not care about killing people, but he wouldn't ever harm a single hair on her head. And he hates that about himself.

History:
When his life started out, Darius's personality was in completely contrast to what it is in the present. He was one of the most caring people you'd ever meet in your life. The only thing that hasn't changed is the fact that even back then he cared deeply for his sister and - at the time when she was alive - his mother.
He grew up with an abusive father - in every sense; sexual, physical and verbal - and tried to get on with his life as much as he could, but it was inevitable that this would eventually take its toll on him. When one grows up with a family that broken, it's unlikely they're going to turn out right and ever now the difference between right and wrong. Darius knows somethings definitely got to be that little bit screwed up in his head, but most of the time refuses to acknowledge it.
At the age of seven his father killed his mother whilst he was drunk and made both him and his sister watch. He was horrified at first, but slowly began to develop a horrible bloodthirst and would spend his spare time going around killing small creatures - mostly rats and rabbits. He tried to go to the police about his mother, but they refused to do anything as he couldn't prove it. This was just after the new Ruler had taken over and his loathing for his rulings started.
His sister was horrified when she found out on his tenth birthday of this obsession and she tried to talk him out of it. In a moment of rage he hit her with a rock laying nearby that he'd used to kill a rabbit and she suffered brain damage. He felt horrible about it and it's the only sense of guilt he's ever really felt in his life.
By the age of sixteen his dislike for his father - who still frequently abused him - had esculated to hate. Just like he had when he'd murdered his mother he tried the police first and when they refused to co-operate he'd made sure his father was plenty drunk and then took his sister away, hiding her in an abandoned train service station before going back home. He tortured him - in ways that probably shouldn't be mentioned - and then when he was sure he was close to death he burnt the house down.
This left him and his sister homeless and Darius with an urge to get back at the kings men for doing nothing to save him or his sister. He brought a house out of the way of town to leave his sister, taking precautions to make sure that she wouldn't be able to harm herself and then set about trying to start his revenge, cutting off all ties from his younger years.
Knowing he wouldn't be able to do it alone he joined a relatively small gang at the time - known as the Black Hearts - and when he was respected enough he killed their current leader and took the position himself. The gang took a turn for the worst and almost trebbled in size under his ruling.
He's only got his mind set on the one goal. Take down the man who he believes is responsible for his pathetic excuse of a childhood.

Demetrie had been wandering around the castle for the better part of the morning, his mind set on finding either Xandria or Caitlin. He'd not had the fortune to run into either of them and resigned himself to the fact that he was going to be forced to spend the rest of the day alone doing absolutely nothing. He shook his head. It wasn't as if he wasn't used to doing that. He did so often enough at home when Tiff wasn't around to demand his full attention.
His eyes flickered around the corridor for a moment and upon seeing no one around he lifted a hand up to run through his hair, letting it change from the brown he changed it when he was around people to it's normal blue colour. He wondered why in the name of Merlin he even bothered changing it. Most people - in his house and year anyway - knew it changed colour. Not many knew it was to do with the emotions that it changed though.
Shaking his head more at the thought, he turned the corner into the Entrance Hall, arching an eyebrow as he saw someone already standing there. He hadn't expected many people to be around the halls today. It wasn't exactly warm and as far as he knew most people were snuggled up in their Common Room's or the Great Hall enjoying lunch. Demetrie couldn't help but smirk as he stared at her and after a moment of silent debate with himself he decided there was no harm in going over to talk to her. He had nothing else to do today anyway.
"You know if you keep standing there and people keep on opening the doors to go outside then you'll eventually freeze to death?" he asked, a hint of amusement in his voice as a chuckled escaped him to show that he was just kidding
